Lincoln Cent SalesDemand continues to decline for individual 2009 Lincoln Cent products as the weeks since their launch pass by, but that is pretty much the norm for most US Mint products.

The Illinois Professional Life Roll Sets did top 221K, according to the latest sales stats from the Mint. With the latest increase of 7,603, which is down from the prior 9,643, it looks like it will be many more weeks before the sets reach the 300,000 figure. That is the number the Mint used to end sales of the Rail Splitter two-roll sets.

The darling of the four available US Mint products that include the new pennies is again the 18-coin clad 2009 US Mint Proof Set. New sales were actually better than those from the week before -- 42,077 versus 40,511. That marks the third straight week of improved increases for the sets. The US Mint recently sent out a marketing Fall coin catalog to customers, which is most likely helping sales for these always popular annual sets.

The following table includes the latest US Mint sales figures for sets and products that include a 2009 Lincoln Cent:

As a reminder, in upcoming US Mint offerings to watch out for, the next round of excitement for the Lincoln pennies will be the 2009 US Mint Uncirculated Set to go on sale Oct. 1, and the special Lincoln Coin & Chronicles Set that is limited to only 50,000. The US Mint has the chronicles set schedule for October, but without an exact date.
