2009 Lincoln Penny Release Dates
The four redesigned 2009 Lincoln Pennies are issued separately by the United States Mint and placed into circulation in equal intervals throughout the year.
It is worth noting that US Mint also strikes extremely popular Lincoln cents and bicentennial dollars for coin collectors. As an example, Lincoln Silver Dollars were launched earlier in the year. 450,000 of them sold out within a few short months. A proof silver dollar will still be available within the Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set scheduled for release this Fall.
Generally speaking, modern collector coins are worth more than circulation versions found in pocket change as fewer are minted and they are in better conditions.
