Collectors jumped at Lincoln products this past week, as all were active in the latest round of US Mint sales figures.
The brand new 2009 Presidency Cent is hot, hot, hot. Even though it was cloudy and rainy in Washington DC for the ceremony, people stood in long lines to get their new pennies. The launch-day stamped rolls have already made their way into the secondary market.
The Mint's sales show that over 153,000 of the Lincoln Presidency Two-Roll Sets have sold between their launch Thursday, November 12 and Sunday, the 15th. Although it's not as impressive as the Lincoln Rail Splitter Cent sales launch, it certainly met expectations and contended with the Professional Life's opening sales.
Speaking of the Professional Life cents, it's two-roll sets didn't do too shabby, increasing another 3,000 by Sunday. It should be interesting to note, the Professional Life Two-Roll sets are still on sale on the Mint's web site, at www.usmint.gov.
